Dino Karabeg & David Price

Dernière mise à jour : 24 mars 2019

Wednesday, the 13th of March, we had a pleasant meeting/workshop with Dino and David. The day was filled with interesting talks and discussions.

We arranged the workshop at the center of our space - at the mezzanine.

In the lunch time, we were having home-made soup with bread together.

We had the excellent discussion of sustainability and how to let people inside the "Pentagon" from different field.

Text discussion - Talk

Pentagon - It can be developed bigger or smaller and the structure will be continued forever.

square - multiplying it will be a grid. Then you can find a senter. But in a Pentagon you will just find another pentagon.

A new space to manifest...

Two main points

a whole as man and the wholeness of earth (as a circle around the pentagon) a description of wholeness.

A powerful thinking of a endlessness wholeness (not endless power).

Prototype of discipline

To create a disiplin to make all the knowledge work together - Knowledge of federation.

Webpage: biograf.com

The knowledge where each theme are a silo - people studying their own theme, without thinking about of using each others knowledge.

Federated knowledge to gathering the knowledge.

The new paradigm inside the pentagon. How to enter.

When you start to discover the big space in the pentagon you can't do a change before you have discovered the whole inside of the paradigm.

The big change can be easy but the small changes can still be difficult.

We need a big group of knowledge people to really see the bigger picture.

The general insight, the daily things…the paradigm shift is the big change that we don't see in daily life. The insight federation gives the knowledge to plan and make the change.

Our economy is structured maximize growth - controlled by algorithms.

We don't see how we can change - We are too obsessed about financial profit.

The students definition and thought about sustainability

Tanguy:

Gustavo: The balance between what earth offers and what we use from it;

Praewa:

Hanne: That our consumption is not harmful to the planet, from soil to soil. Important to find solutions for what to do with the unsustainable that we have already created. Elisabeth: Taking care of what we have. Thinking about the ones coming after us. Making smart solutions that will last for a long time.

Han:

To solve the problem within the paradigme.

David - nothing is sustainable - how can we continue trave.

To continue to use some sustainable things and add some new?

Dino´s presentation

To be able to access into the pentagon then we have to change the way we see and understand things.

Book the limits to growth from 1972

The book is about the computer simulation of exponential economic and population growth with a finite supply of resources. It was made before the knowledge of the environment issue. Jørgen Randers was therefore presented as one of the negative people.

Structure drives behavior. We have to change the structure!

Manuel Castells, 1996

- That the economy is being globalized. Because of that no one have control over it.

- We use the electronically for everything makes us selv loose.

- Our economy is structures to maximize growth.

Breaking controls (We have totally inadequate steering and braking controls.)

TALK

Dino: how can we help others to get into the paradigme.

Vibeke: how can we be able to think in another way then always growing. We have too much focus in growing and when something is growing we explain it as something positive, but is it?

Dino: is the direction we are going into a way which is sustainable? it's not, we need to change the direction!

The growth of the economy is not sustainable. We have to find something new (something else then economy) that make us change the focus, make people attracted to it.

The study of themes are continuing with the same systems, techniques….And we asking what is necessary to make them figuring out now things in new ways.

Gustavo: how can we get people here (into the pentagon)

Vibeke: Change doesn´t need everyone.

Paradom

5 insights. People with the different experience and knowledge coming from the 5 different insights - meet together in the paradigme. Trying to come up with new good solutions. To take care of what they need after different crises.

- what can we do to let it happen or make it happen. We need to develop a new way.

Economy doesn´t have breaks and the government doesn't have the steering.
